The takeover tree · senku.im

Forty-nine things being built in the open. Take any one.

Every line below is something that exists: a printed object, a live site, a measured number, a failure worth knowing. None of it is waiting on permission. Pick the one you would enjoy and start; there is nothing to sign and nobody to ask.

About money

Nothing is asked for here and nothing is owed. Taking a branch and running with it is worth more than money, and it is the only thing this page wants.

Why there is no donate button, and what I think money is actually for, is set out at worldview.senku.im.

Branches you can start on today: each one names something you can reach and a first thing to do.

Now also showing the early ones. These are real and often the most interesting, but something is still missing. Usually the thing itself is not published, or nobody has written down how to begin.

ROOT

The discipline the rest stands on

MEASUREMENT: the root

working

The discipline every other branch stands on: measure only the emitted artifact; make an unchecked input FAIL loudly; keep discredited numbers visible with the reason they died.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help Nothing to copy. It is a rule. To extend it: someone in a different domain (a wet lab, a machine shop, a data team) who adopts VOID_MEASUREMENTS as a habit and reports whether it caught anything. That report is the contribution.

Computed design values disagreed with the emitted file 4 times out of 4. A validator was silently checking nothing for hours.

Named as the first outside adopter; their void-list published beside Oleg's. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives

TOOLPATH

Making things a slicer cannot

ALIEN TECH: the toolpath is the design

live

Objects whose shape exists only as machine motion: no CAD, no mesh, no slicer; the gcode is the design.

What would help An FDM printer with a 0.8 nozzle, one evening, ~AED 25 of PLA. No CAD skill, which is the point. Separately: a person to own product and photography. The objects are finished; the shop is not.

One unbroken path, zero travel moves. The site publicly corrects its own wrong flow number and leaves the correction visible.

Ship a ring you emitted and it goes in the gallery with your name and machine.

ORBÉ: all about balls

live

Premium spheres plus the objects that make them sing: a Hilbert-curve tray that turns a fistful of steel balls into the sound of rain.

What would help Someone to print the five trays (6/8/14/16 mm ridge + 8 mm channel) and rank WHICH ONE SINGS. The ranking is genuinely unknown and no amount of theory settles it. ~1 kg of 8 mm steel balls (~AED 60–120) or any balls you own. Longer term: someone who can shoot ASMR video, because every product is its own ad.

A space-filling curve maximises wall-length per unit area, so it maximises edges crossed per cm of hand motion. The curve is a functional comb.

The winning tray ships as a named SKU with the ranker credited; you keep the trays.

Where it lives

PRIMA: primitives fetish

live

A springy 0.75 mm printed stick is a cantilever spring you can feel: brushes, scalp massagers, and a field of tines you run a hand through.

What would help Print the fit coupon, pick the slot by feel, then print the massager dome and SAY HOW IT FEELS. Nobody has held one. ~AED 25 of filament. The slot-mouth fillet is already implemented; the remaining work is to print and test it.

Spring rate scales as thickness³·width / length³, so free length alone generates the whole SKU grid from one file.

Corrected evidence Previously: Fillet the slot mouth. The biggest fatigue-life gain available and it costs nothing. Now: The slot-mouth fillet is already implemented; print and test it. Source: Generator line 60: the slot-mouth chamfer is already implemented

First-hands report published verbatim.

Where it lives
  • PRIMA live page. Verified 200; showcase only, no files, no instructions, only #anchor links
  • The 4-fit calibration coupon the card tells you to print first (slots 0.90/0.95/1.00/1.05). Private not published yet
  • The massager dome the card tells you to print second (37 bristles, 28 deg splay). Private not published yet
  • Generator. Line 60 proves the slot-mouth chamfer the card asks for is ALREADY implemented not published yet
  • Assembly + slot-fit notes ("Slot fit corrected 07-23: 3.10 x 0.95", bristle lengths, tip rounding). Private not published yet

BGS: bamboo grid system / stick-grip parts

working

A modular structural system of bamboo sticks and printed TPU/PETG joints with zero metal hardware, plus the stick-grip parts family (nodes, rotors, print-in-place bearings, bins).

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help 1/4" (6.35 mm) bamboo sticks (~AED 40–80 a bundle) and ONE fitgauge print (~8 min, 5 bores 6.3–6.7) to find your own printer's bore offset. Here it is model − ~0.25 mm, unconfirmed at 1/4". Generators and a QC checker exist; what is missing is a second machine confirming the offset and a real load test.

Printed hole ≈ model − 0.25; webs under 2.5 mm fuse; interference press fits are the joint (0.2–0.3 mm), so no screws exist anywhere in the system.

Your printer's offset published in the fit table; a load-to-failure number would be the first one. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives
  • fitgauge_quarter.py. The exact part the card describes: 5 bores 6.3-6.7, ~8 min, reports model->printed offset not published yet
  • qc_check.py. The 'QC checker exists' claim: watertight + cantilever-vs-bridge + degenerate-face gate not published yet
  • connector_family.py. The node/rotor generator family not published yet
  • bore-coupon.scad. Bamboo-grid's OWN coupon: 4 bores at d+0.15/0.25/0.35/0.50, not 5 at 6.3-6.7 not published yet
  • hardware/README.md. Print card: 2 perimeters, 0-10% infill, no supports, no brim, PETG not published yet
  • SPEC.md. The canonical BGS spec (sections 4, 8, 9, 10 referenced by the coupon) not published yet

CRACKLE: engineered snap

working

Printed lattices whose fused strand-crossings are designed to break, so squeezing the object makes a dense crackling sound.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help ~75 g of filament and one session: the weld ladder is 5 rungs at 15.04 g each, printed back to back. Also needs someone willing to publish a FLAT result. If crackle is a novelty, that negative is a real contribution and it will be printed as such.

A matched pair (identical geometry, mass and path, differing only in Z-lift at crossings) settled fusing-vs-interlock in one session.

Your ladder scores published as an independent replication, agreeing or not. (once it is published, see above)

FORMING: bend it before it solidifies

working

Print a flat sheet on a 120 °C bed, lift it warm, and shape it by hand. The final geometry is decided after printing, so the wearer is the mould and there is no tooling.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help An IR thermometer (Etekcity 1030D ≈ AED 86) and a stopwatch. THE SAFETY WINDOW IS UNMEASURED: the seconds between ~45 °C safe-to-touch and too-stiff-to-form. That single unmeasured number gates the wearable line. It is the highest-value hour on this page.
Safety Measure with an IR thermometer, never with your hand. Adults only while the window is unknown.

PLA's glass transition is ~60 °C; a sheet on a 120 °C plate is at twice it and drapes like leather.

The safety window carries the measurer's name permanently, on this page and in the guide. (once it is published, see above)

Path-generated machines: belt + pulley

working

A working conveyor belt and a crowned pulley, both written straight to gcode with no CAD and no slicer, to lift steel balls 1.2 m.

→ https://senku.im/lift/ (preview · ordering unavailable)

What would help Hands and a weekend: a second pulley, a frame, a hand crank. ~73 g of filament for the belt (65 min). One open geometry question: a 14 mm ball does NOT fit the order-3 lattice (11.8 mm clear). Shaft-vs-lattice is undecided and someone should just decide it by building both.

Folding the belt along a closed Moore curve fits 2.41 m of belt (1.14 m of lift) onto one 350 mm plate. The vertical screw was rejected with arithmetic: it needs ~2990 rpm to pin a rolling sphere.

A finished machine with your name on it, and the frame design published as the canonical one.

Printer fleet over Moonraker

working

Three consumer 3D printers driven, watched and diagnosed from a laptop with no vendor cloud in the loop, including naming the exact gcode line currently executing.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help Nothing to copy it. To extend: someone with other machine brands to widen compatibility. Carries two hard-won facts free: on this machine the bed clamps to 120 °C (observed 2026-07-25) while ACCEPTING M190 S135, and the K2's calibration ceremony lives inside G28 itself.

Reads virtual_sdcard.file_position and fetches the running file FROM the printer to name the live line.

Brand compatibility credited per adapter. (once it is published, see above)

The toolpath engine

working

A small Python toolchain that writes printer motion directly and refuses to emit a file it cannot verify.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help No printer required. Run it and read the emitted file. To extend: a maintainer who cares about verification, and someone on NON-Klipper firmware to find where the moves-per-second ceiling really is (~300/s here is a Klipper fact, not a physics fact).

Refuses to write a file whose implied flow exceeds the cap. The guard fired on a real 539 mm³/s bug that would have shut the nozzle MCU down mid-print.

Your firmware's ceiling becomes a row on the page with your name in the source column. (once it is published, see above)

The wave flower

working

A 300 mm translucent flower hand-formed from a print that failed: cancelled mid-job, peeled off warm, splayed and welded at the centre.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help One spool of PLA (~AED 25) and any printer with a heated bed. ~1 min and 4 g per sheet. Open question nobody has touched: does a different ribbon pitch make a different flower? Also wants someone who can photograph and sell them.

1 minute to print, 1 minute to form. The cheapest demonstrable thing in the whole tree.

Your pitch sweep published as the flower catalogue, under your name. (once it is published, see above)

Rain generator

seed

A printed surface whose own line texture organises water into a regular array of droplets, so droplet pitch becomes a designable thing.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A TPU flow measurement first: the prior 15.2 mm³/s value was retracted, so no settled TPU flow value exists. Then run a --spacing sweep. One spool of TPU ≈ AED 90. Wants someone curious about wetting and contact angle.

The observation costs nothing to reproduce: print any hermetic flat sheet, wet it, look at the droplet grid. It was first spotted in a photo of a plain 4-layer print already doing it by accident.

Corrected evidence Previously: TPU settled at 15.2 mm³/s at 200 °C, ceiling still unfound. Now: No settled TPU flow value exists; measure it before running the spacing sweep. machine.py lines 239–247: TPU_FLOW = 15.2 is immediately retracted

If pitch turns out controllable, that is a publishable result and it is yours. (once it is published, see above)

Z modulated during extrusion

seed

Moving the Z axis WHILE extruding varies squish continuously along one line. A texture no slicer can express.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help Someone to resurrect it from git history into its own file and make an OBJECT out of it. It is a capability with no product. Cost: filament and curiosity. Guards already derived: amplitude capped at 0.6× layer height, and refuse to emit when segment length samples the sine under 6×/cycle (that prints a jagged triangle that looks plausible and is not a wave).

There is no slicer setting for this at all. Z is just another axis in the same G1.

First object made with it becomes the named example. (once it is published, see above)

MATERIALS

Turning cheap or free matter into stock

Beach shells into a shelf of materials

seed

Turn beach shell grit into labelled, usable material (terrazzo coasters, writing chalk, polishing powder, shell-white paint) with nothing hotter than a kitchen stove.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A free afternoon and a beach. Start with the 30-second test: a spoonful in vinegar. Lots of fizz = mostly shell (chalk, whiting, gofun, calcium acetate all open up); little fizz = mostly sand (go terrazzo and sensory). Two moulds are drawn and mesh-verified already. Nobody has yet run the closed loop: whiting from the same batch polishes the electroformed copper.

The vinegar test corrected the entire plan. The stock turned out to be mixed aggregate with only some whole shells.

The closed loop (shell → whiting → polished copper ring) is unclaimed; first to run it owns the write-up. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives

Copper electroforming on 3D prints

seed

Grow a real copper skin onto a printed plastic object in a copper-sulfate bath, so it becomes actual metal to the touch.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help One evening and someone who will run it and LOG WHAT HAPPENED. The full kit is bought and sitting here (CuSO₄ 250 g, 2 mm copper strip anodes, silver conductive pen, PSU, container). Your own kit ≈ AED 150–250. The bath upgrade path is worked out for places where sulfuric acid is not sold to consumers: v1 plain → v1.5 pool-shop sodium bisulfate (~AED 20) → v2 brightener.
Safety Nitrile gloves and eye protection; copper sulfate is an aquatic toxin. Do not pour a spent bath down the drain.

Bath at 250 g/L, current ladder 0.05–0.3 A, bore +0.5 mm sizing derived from Faraday, so the ring is sized to fit after the copper lands.

The current-ladder results table, credited; and the ring you grew. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives

Mood candles

seed

Candles where shape, scent and story are engineered together as a mood to nurture in yourself, not as an ornament.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help The first pour. Five masters are drawn and mesh-verified (27 defects fixed in adversarial QA), wax, wicks, dye, stearic acid, scent sets and melter all bought. Also needs an honest burn test. Note before you spend: some indoor venues do not allow real flame on fire-safety grounds, so this needs an outdoor market or a different channel.

The honest market read is the valuable part: jar candles are confirmed saturated; sculptural candles are real demand WITH real competition, not white space, and Etsy sellers already run this exact print-master-to-silicone toolchain. The edge is execution and meaning, not method.

That correction alone saves a stranger a wasted quarter; run the burn test and it carries your name. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives
  • The five mesh-verified masters, .scad + .stl not published yet
  • Burn-test protocol: CD wick sizing, the 3-hour test, the per-candle log not published yet
  • 2-part silicone moulding procedure + pint options A/B/C not published yet
  • One of the five masters, printable today if published not published yet
  • Brand direction, scent-load math (6-10% of wax weight), concept briefs not published yet
  • '27 defects fixed' QA record. Verified at STATUS.md:199 not published yet

Mood lamps

seed

The same candle masters printed hollow over a bendable neon-flex LED tube. The mood object with no flame, safe in a child's room.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help ONE METRE OF NEON-FLEX DIFFUSER, AED 20–60, and an evening. That is the entire cost of finding out whether it reads as beautiful or as cheap. A 10-minute CAD change converts any candle master (0% infill + bottom port).

Matched sets (cloud lamp plus cloud candle equals 'calm') cost nothing extra to design.

Where it lives
  • The lamp master. ALREADY hollow, 40 mm bottom port, 3 mm shoulder, cable slot not published yet
  • Printable mesh of the same, 2.2 MB not published yet
  • The matching candle master for the 'cloud lamp + cloud candle = calm' set not published yet
  • Sizes the neon-flex coil and the 7 mm cable notch (line 40) not published yet
  • Mood-LAMPS section: neon-flex AED 20-60/m, matched-set rationale (lines 108-114) not published yet

Recycled-plastic meaning pens

seed

A pen cast from waste plastic, sold with a card saying what it used to be. People buy the contribution carried by the pen.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A DOOR. Go to your nearest Precious Plastic chapter before buying anything. Anyone who already knows that community unblocks this in one message. The near-free start needs nothing: print a master, pour silicone, melt clean failed PLA at 170–190 °C, press in a standard refill. Entry cost drops from ~AED 6–8k to roughly nothing.
Safety Melting plastics needs real ventilation. Know the polymer before you heat it.

The sequencing is the finding: VISIT THE LOCAL CHAPTER BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING. The visit probably replaces the first €2–4k machine purchase entirely.

The introduction is the contribution and it is credited as such; first 20 pens carry the maker's batch card. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives

THE FORM FACTORY

seed

One pipeline (print a master, cast a silicone mould, pour) running four materials through the same moulds: wax, recycled plastic, pewter, resin.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A FIRST POUR. Nothing to buy: silicone, hotplate, butane stove, scale and thermometer are all in the house. What is missing is a person to make the mould and report what came out ugly. Your own entry: Mold Star 30 pint ≈ AED 188 plus a printed master.

Every master is reusable across all four materials, so one skill and one toolchain yields four product families at four price points. Wax pours at 70 °C with children present; pewter at 230 °C does not.

The first-pour failure photos published as the reference set, credited. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives
  • pewter-first-pour.md. Complete beginner pour guide, the two governing safety rules not published yet
  • MOLDING.md. Silicone allocation computed from real STL volumes; 1:1 mix, 45 min pot life, 6 h / overnight cure not published yet
  • first-collection-masters.md: 'form factory run #1' master specs, 45-degree undercut and 3 mm section rules not published yet
  • plastic-recycling.md. The recycled-plastic material arm not published yet
  • resin-coin-workflow.md. The resin arm not published yet

Aluminium scrap melting

parked

Melt near-free scrap cast aluminium (bent wheels, fabricator offcuts) into ingots and cast parts.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A DOOR: anyone with legal outdoor space and written host consent, or a foundry willing to sell an hour of yard time. That one thing unparks it. Then AED 100 for the Emirates Gas Type 825 regulator (the single missing part between an already-chosen AED 973.77 furnace and a first melt), or ~AED 1,200–1,800 for a full rig and safety kit from scratch.

Three separately expensive findings, free: the US regulator on a UAE furnace kit CANNOT attach to UAE cylinders; moisture is the dominant hazard, not the 660 °C heat: trapped water flashes to steam and ejects the melt; and the melt SITE is the real bottleneck, answered by a day-rented private yard, not the desert. Honest: aluminium is not worth melting for money, only for casting practice.

Whoever opens the site is named on the first melt log and gets the first ingots. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives

Pewter / tin casting on a hotplate

parked

Lead-free pewter melts at 230 °C, so real cast metal is a hotplate hobby in an apartment. No furnace, no foundry, no yard.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help PARKED by the household’s own call, 2026-08: all metal melting here is set down as too complex and dangerous for now, so nothing on this card is being bought or heated. The record stands for whoever picks it up: Sn99 solder bar is the zero-hunting option; the listing behind this row works out at about AED 216/kg (AED 267 for 5 x 247 g), not the AED 179 this card used to claim; hotplate, steel ladle, silicone and 0.1 g scale are already here. Alternative: one good flea-market walk-through. Verified the hard way: no UAE tin/pewter scrap resale market exists, so there is no cheap channel to find.
Safety Provenance first: if you cannot identify the metal by where it came from, it does not go in the pot. No mixed scrap, no unknown white metal. Lead risk.

Two rules govern everything: never let the melt smoke, and no water anywhere near it. The 7-gate lead-free checklist (provenance → markings → physical cues → density → rhodizonate swab on a filed notch → melt gate) is a real safety artifact for anyone melting scrap anywhere.

PRINCESS SHOES: printed dress-up shoes for a five-year-old, and the first vertical run through the new flow

seed

Oleg, 2026-08-20, in his words: "I want to print princess shoes for my 5yo daughter." He asked for it as a vertical AND as the first test of the entrepreneurial flow designed the same day, so it carries two jobs: make the shoes, and find out whether the flow survives contact with a real want.

Nothing yet for a stranger to act on. What could travel first is the flow itself -- a repeatable way to take a want and turn it into a made thing -- and after that a printable pattern with its measurements, which needs no child in the picture at all.

What would help Everything. Nothing designed, nothing printed, no foot measured. The flow it is meant to exercise is adjudicated but unbuilt: reports/flow-competition/decision.md picks the base and the grafts, guides/entrepreneurial-vertical-flow.md is Sol's version. The first real question is whether a printed shoe can be comfortable enough to be worn for play rather than photographed once.
Safety FIRST-CLASS HERE. A shoe is worn, so it is a load-bearing part on a child: a sole that snaps or a strap that traps a foot is an injury, not a failed print. Material choice, edge finish and how it comes OFF in a hurry all decide before aesthetics do. Nothing about her is publishable beyond her name -- no face, no photo, no video, no measurement that identifies her, and never a location.

None. Not one shoe exists.

Where it lives
  • reports/flow-competition/decision.md not published yet

Not takeable yet: Whether she wears them twice. Whether a printed sole is comfortable at all. And whether the new flow adds anything over just making the thing, which this vertical exists to answer.

MACHINERY

The machines and the machinery behind them

MISSION CONTROL: one household, run like a mission

live

The operating system the other rows run on: a board compiled from the artifacts every thirty minutes, rank kept in the human's verbatim words behind a failing gate, write-ahead logs for agents, an allowlist between private and public, and a bird's-eye map of every vertical.

What would help The five transferable ideas are on the public page with diagrams generated from the real files. The code is not: it is one private repo tangled with family operations, and separating an installable version is open work nobody has started. Asking for that separation is the most useful contribution; a second household willing to run it is the proof it lacks.

Days old and says so on its first screen: one household, zero weeks survived. The page's diagrams are byte-compared against a fresh generation before every push, and on 2026-08-04 that gate refused a real stale figure that had sat on the live page.

Named as the first outside household; what breaks for you gets fixed on the page.

Not takeable yet: An installable, separated repo. Until it exists a stranger can copy the pattern but not the code.

REBUILT: the collective that owns its own problem

live

A community solving its own food problem, where membership is proto-ownership by VOICE not equity, and money never pools anywhere.

What would help Someone in another city to run the same structure on their own local problem. The governance is fully written (three never-votable laws, a three-rung membership ladder, a two-sided accountability loop, a distributed vouching web) and is the most directly transplantable document here. It also needs its cold start tested: the vouching web is unproven at n=1.

Money buys food or voice, never a return. Take out money-for-return and the single point of trust and there is nothing left to capture.

A second instance turns the plan into a pattern; both get linked as siblings.

Where it lives

The counterparty feedback loop

working

Every external party gets their own portal and their own agent session, each sealed inside a kernel-enforced sandbox that can only see that party's folder. So a human never has to relay messages between two other humans.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A maintainer, and a NON-macOS PORT. The isolation is a macOS seatbelt profile today; Linux wants bubblewrap or systemd-run and nobody has written it. Zero dependencies, plain Node ≥ 20. Arguably the most copyable thing in the whole tree and it has nothing to do with making objects.

Guardrails as physical sandboxes, not as instructions in a prompt. An agent cannot leak party B's context to party A because it was never mounted.

The Linux port ships as the reference implementation under the porter's name. (once it is published, see above)

Where it lives
  • The whole macOS dependency: sandbox.sb emitter + sandbox-exec launch (L141), darwin guard (L146), degraded fallback (L160) not published yet
  • Architecture, party contract, 3-command onboarding, and the line flagging it is not committed (git init only) not published yet
  • The content guardrail the sandbox backstops, 87 lines not published yet
  • The only sanctioned send path, 74 lines not published yet
  • A real party world already materialised against this code not published yet

BANYAN CITY

seed

An open framework for branching AI-rendered micro-drama, where the repository IS the product and every decision is publicly auditable.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A second author. It is the only already-public repo in this list, licensed and forkable today with no permission and no contact, which makes it the cleanest test of whether any of this works. Nobody has forked it.

No company, no walled platform, no paywall. A tree, its genome, and the people who water it.

Fork it and it is yours; the parent links to your branch. (once it is published, see above)

Wellness directory

dormant

A discoverability layer for individual massage professionals. They stay employed at their salons; clients find the good ones and book normally.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help Someone with an actual relationship to salons. The concept, the content-integrity ruleset and the two-sided reputation model are written and unbuilt; the reputation design is already the parent of the Rebuilt accountability loop, so it has proven transferable even while dormant. Build not started, deliberately.

Dormant is a first-class state here. A stalled vertical with its thinking finished is a gift to someone with time.

Take it outright. Name, concept and all. This one is offered whole. (once it is published, see above)

KNOWLEDGE

Writing down what actually happened

KINGDOM OF SCIENCE

live

Rebuilding civilisation's tech tree from raw materials (soap, lime, concrete, glass, rock candy) for real output, not demonstrations.

What would help Other parents. This is the branch most obviously worth forking with your own kids in your own kitchen. The lessons are written to be RUN, not read. Costs: a bag of shells, a stove, vinegar. Report which lesson actually landed and which bored them.
Safety Adults run every heat and caustic step, outdoors, in goggles + gloves + P2 mask, with water ready. Quicklime burns. Children observe from 2 m.

Humans calcined lime for 12,000 years on eyeballs and the slake test. You do not need a precision kiln, and the guide says so instead of selling you one.

Your session notes published as a parallel lesson track; the tech tree gains a second independent branch.

Where it lives

MANUAL OVERRIDE: the blog

live

First-person essays about an AI running roughly 99% of a real operation, including the parts that broke.

What would help Readers and ARGUMENT. The material flows on cadence; what is missing is anyone pushing back on it. Costs nothing but attention. A dissent published in full is the contribution.

It publishes failures at the same rate as wins: two agent sessions colliding, templated outreach earning a 24h block, the AI trying to loosen its own safety limit and a separate guard stopping it.

Rebuttals run unedited, with the author's name and their own link.

THE TAKEOVER TREE (this page)

live

Every vertical published so a stranger can copy it outright or take it over. A tree, not a list, so you can take a branch without the trunk.

What would help Corrections. Every number here is meant to be checkable against the artifact that produced it, and a wrong number is worth more than a compliment; send them to oleg@mlkv.org. And someone to run the same tree over THEIR own work, so this stops being one man's inventory and becomes a format.

The structure itself: honest state, what is proven with how it was measured, what broke and why, what it cost, the first hour, and what you must re-root because it was true only here.

Corrections are published with the corrector's name in the row. A second tree gets linked from this one.

Where it lives

The maker skill tree

live

The UAE make-vs-buy ledger

working

A priced, verified answer to "should I make this or just buy it" for a dozen materials.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help Nothing to use it. What it genuinely needs: SOMEONE TO REPEAT IT IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. The method transfers, the numbers do not. One afternoon of price-checking where you live turns one man's ledger into a comparative table.

Kills whole projects cheaply: brass and aluminium are NOT worth melting (refined is AED 9–15/kg); lime, chalk, cement and commodity soap are AED 0.24–4.80/kg: education, never savings; pewter is the one metal winner; artisan soap at AED 140–350/kg is the sleeper.

ALIGNED COMPANIES: find the firms that talk about their own AI work as openly as Deriv, and rank them against it

seed

Oleg, 2026-08-21, after interviewing at Deriv on Monday and watching their AI Malaysia takeover podcast: he wants to work at a company like that, and asked for a product that hunts for them and ranks them with Deriv as the gold standard -- "best I have seen so far". He had already said it publicly on their thread: "have you seen anyone else online speaking this openly (I am arming my agents right now for that search)". The signal is not an AI-strategy page. It is engineers publishing what they actually built, by name, with real figures and real failures: Deriv's own blog carries a 77% cost cut on production agents, a keyless cross-cloud identity design, a self-running QA loop, and their own security incidents. He also singled out their willingness to take on the social and political side of AI rather than route around it.

High and unusually transferable. Anyone choosing where to work wants this, and the rubric is the product even before the hunting works. It is also the first vertical to be run through the entrepreneurial flow he asked for, so it doubles as that flow's second real test.

What would help The rubric exists now, derived FROM Deriv's own posts rather than invented, and it scores six things those posts actually do. What is still missing is a way to FIND companies nobody has listed yet: reading a known engineering blog directly works, and asking a search engine returns the marketing layer.
Safety It ranks COMPANIES, never individuals. Public artifacts only -- published posts, talks, repos, filings. No scraping of private profiles, no dossiers on named employees, and an author's name appears only as ordinary attribution of something they published. It judges what a company has published about its own engineering, and nothing else. It says nothing about anyone's employment, and it is not a way in to any company.

A rubric with six dimensions, each anchored to a specific Deriv artifact, and a retrieval tool that reads engineering blogs directly and hands each article to a human to score. Two measured runs: searching returned 15 candidates and no new company, reading seven blogs directly returned 37 first-party articles and one. THE RANKING ITSELF IS NOT PUBLISHED. Whether a named comparison of employers ever becomes public is Oleg's decision alone, and it has not been made.

Where it lives

Not takeable yet: Whether openness of this kind is rare enough to be findable, or so rare the answer is a list of three. Whether public candour predicts what it is like to work there. What Oleg does with the ranking once it exists. And how a hunt discovers a company whose blog nobody has named yet, which is the part neither retrieval route solves.

KIDS BLADE PLAY: movie-style sword and stick practice, for reaction and for the hour itself

seed

Oleg with his kids, recorded 2026-08-10 in his words: martial arts "in a fancy way, like in the movies" -- swords, sticks, choreographed fights -- to sharpen reaction and to spend the hour on something that feels good to do. Choreography rather than combat is the point: the movie version is the appeal, not a watered-down version of the real thing.

Nothing for a stranger to act on. What could travel first is a printable safe prop with its measurements, which needs no child in the picture at all.

What would help Everything. No routine, no props made, no sessions run. The obvious first build is the props themselves, which this workshop can already make -- a foam or printed blade that cannot injure, a stick weighted so a miss does not hurt, and a target that shows a hit. What it needs from outside is somebody who actually teaches stage combat to children telling us where the routine is wrong.
Safety FIRST-CLASS HERE, NOT A FOOTNOTE. Swords and sticks with children carry real eye, hand and head injury risk, and "it is only choreography" is exactly how people get hurt -- props, eye protection and a no-contact rule come before any routine. Separately and structurally: this is a KID vertical. No child's face, name, age, school or location goes on any public page, no stranger ever contacts a kid, and nothing here becomes a live video. Those limits are the design, not a setting. And "enhances reaction" is Oleg's reason for doing it with them, not a health claim -- no page here will dress it as one.

None. Not one session has happened.

Not takeable yet: Whether it holds their attention past the second session, which is the only real test. What the props actually are. And where the line sits between a routine that is fun and one that teaches a habit you would not want in a real scuffle.

MISTAKES: the half of a CV nobody publishes

seed

An archive of what people got wrong, in one shape: what I did, what I expected, what actually happened, WHAT IT COST, what I do differently now. The cost field is the filter. Without it an entry is a story or a humblebrag.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help The exposure decision, settled before any code: named, anonymous, or role only ("backend engineer, 8 years, fintech"). That is the load-bearing choice and it is the one every dead project in this category got wrong. Then one person willing to post the first entry with a real cost in it. Trying costs nothing: the v0 is a JSON file and a static page. Nothing is being built until the decision is made.

The prior art is a graveyard and the deaths name the cause. Supply was never the problem: r/TIFU carries roughly 19 million members. What died is every project whose only asset was the archive. Autopsy claimed the largest startup-failure database in the world and its domain now redirects to a gambling site; failbox.me no longer resolves at all. Only NASA's ASRS built a thing strangers actually consult, 2,930 public queries a month, and that took federal immunity.

Post the first entry and it stays the first entry, under whichever identity the exposure decision settles on. (once it is published, see above)

Not takeable yet: Nothing is built and nothing is designed. One unpublished draft exists. What there is to take is the idea and the research behind it, and both sit in a private repo.

AI TRANSITION: moving an established firm, not staffing it

working

An established business with people on payroll cannot buy its way into the AI era by hiring, and the people already inside are usually the brake rather than the engine. This vertical sells the transition itself: an AI-legibility audit of one real system, then the work that follows from what it finds. The buyer is the OWNER, never the department head, because the department head is the one being changed.

→ https://ai.senku.im (preview · ordering unavailable)

What would help No client and no offer priced. The owner-seat playbook now documents the operating precedent, its gates, its costs to the owner and one real failure path. The audit specimen remains supporting method evidence.
Safety It sells a change that moves people. Anything published must address the OWNER buying the transition and must not read as a pitch to remove staff, because that is both wrong and the fastest way to lose the room. No client is named until they say so themselves.

WORKING PRECEDENT, NOT CUSTOMER PROOF. One owner runs real research, software, publishing and monitoring through this system. No outside company has bought or run it.

Not takeable yet: The first buyer. Then: what an audit costs and how long it takes, what its deliverable actually is, and whether the audit sells the work that follows it or has to stand alone. None of these has been tested against a real conversation.

LIT QR STANDS: a configurator for a thing that is not built yet

working

A backlit QR panel: cast opal acrylic, QR modules FDM-printed straight onto the sheet, lit from behind by LED strip. White panel by day, glowing at night. It goes in a hotel lobby on behalf of a flower or gift shop. The revenue is NOT the panel -- it is a short code on a domain we control, one code PER PLACEMENT, and what that code can attribute. CORRECTED 2026-08-10, the same day it was published: this entry first claimed the pitch was a PROVABLE COMMISSION. A redirect proves a SCAN, not an ORDER. A guest who scans and then telephones the shop is invisible, and any order the shop self-reports is back on exactly the trust this was meant to replace. The first concierge who asks how you know it was an order ends the meeting. So the claim is narrower than it was this morning: every florist offers a commission on trust and an invoice, and this makes the SCAN a timestamped record. Reaching an ORDER needs the order to travel a path we control, which is now the first design decision rather than an assumption.

→ https://qr.omale.style/ (preview · ordering unavailable)

What would help Everything PHYSICAL, and now most of a PRODUCT. No panel printed, no acrylic cut, no LED behind one, no stand assembled, nobody approached. As of 2026-08-10 evening this stopped being a printing experiment: Oleg made it the primary vertical and named a configurator with 3D and autorotate, variable faces and height, faux-leather borders, embroidery, metal coating and engraving, an order-to-payment-to-delivery path, and a buyer who programs what each face points at AFTER it arrives. That last part is the hard half -- every face is its own permanent code with a changeable target, owned by someone we have never met. What exists is the generator that turns a payload into real toolpaths. Everything else is unbuilt. Spec: guides/qr-stand-configurator.md in the Assist repo.
Safety PMMA is combustible and drips when burning, and UAE facade rules tightened after the Torch and Address fires -- anything permanent or exterior needs building management first, not after. Scan data is per-placement by design and must stay that way rather than becoming per-guest. A hotel's or a shop's private commercial terms are theirs; Oleg cannot waive them.

The SOFTWARE half is proven and the physical half is untouched, and the gap between those is the whole honest picture. Proven by running it: a payload becomes a QR matrix that zbarimg -- an outside decoder sharing no code with ours -- reads back exactly, and that matrix becomes real toolpaths. Measured off the emitted file rather than a summary line: 3,380 extruding moves and 5.4g of PETG for a 120mm unit, 12,324 moves and 48.4g for a 290mm showpiece, four layers landing at Z 3.2 on a 3mm sheet. NOT proven: anything you can hold. The emitted file says in its own header that it is not print-ready. And not one number in Oleg's brief was measured by us -- the acrylic and LED prices and the optics are his research. Whether the CO2 laser exists at all is an open question in QUESTIONS.md.

Not takeable yet: Whether a lobby QR converts at all; whether the redirect can ever reach an ORDER rather than a SCAN, which the earlier claim on this entry got wrong; whether a Sharjah free-zone licence may install and service equipment on Dubai mainland at all; and the price of every option except acrylic, LED and filament -- including an average price for a vendor logo, which cannot be computed because there have been zero logo jobs. WHO BUYS was decided 2026-08-12 -- anyone buys and the faces are SOLD, so pricing and the configurator now address that buyer and the rental model is dead.

Otherside: curated shorts for builders

working

A curated graph of real short videos for people crossing to the other side of the AI revolution, where intelligence is no longer the most expensive resource and building with your hands is the skill that appreciates. The family discovers and rates clips privately; a picked path through the graph becomes an episode for everyone else. Direction is being chosen right now on its thread; nothing generated, nothing published.

What would help Oleg's path pick on the direction graph (the otherside thread), then ten hand-seeded clips rated. A stranger cannot act on this yet and the page says so.
Safety Family rating stays private. Anything public is aggregate-only: no names, no per-person votes. Real clips are embedded from their creators, never redistributed as files.

Where a maker can actually sell

working

A ranked, priced, researched answer to where a small maker can legally put a table in Dubai.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help Someone to BOOK ONE SATURDAY TABLE and report what actually happened: one organised market Makers' Market, ~AED 325/table/day + AED 125 one-off registration, year-round, indoors in Al Quoz malls for summer. That single trip report is the missing data point for every other maker sitting on the same fear.

Markets trade under their OWN event licence and vendors sit under that umbrella. So a free-zone licence is not a blocker at an organised market, though it confers no independent Dubai retail right (that needs a DET temporary permit, ~AED 5,000/6mo).

The trip report published as the canonical vendor account, credited. (once it is published, see above)

CURIO: assemble-it-yourself wearables

seed

What would help The display stand built: a ~60 cm explorable, touchable, lit, rotating cabinet, fully designed and buildable in-house on gear already owned (power is already solved: an 8 kWh battery makes the whole stand venue-independent). Then one market. Four launch decisions are open: build budget, product scope, name, first market.

The stand is the product before any wearable is: a table nobody stops at sells nothing regardless of what is on it.

FAB PARTS: obsolete parts, remade

seed

Reproduce rare, obsolete and unobtainable small parts on demand: dead-controller keys, vintage knobs, classic-car trim, antique hardware.

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help A second pilot part with a real customer behind it, and someone who owns the licence and liability question (currently deferred and honestly unresolved). The hardware stack that makes it more than a print shop (pewter kit for real metal, laser for marked faceplates) exists, but the household has parked the metal side as too complex and dangerous for now: the laser leg stands, the pilot's metal leg waits.

One pilot, an obsolete controller key, was specified end to end and handed to its runner in July 2026. No result has come back yet, so nothing has been reproduced or delivered. That is the whole evidence base and it is stated as such.

Bring the part, keep the part; the process write-up is credited to whoever ran it. (once it is published, see above)

Notes and measurements exist but are not published yet. Ask and they go up. That request is itself the most useful contribution to this one.

What would help AN OPERATOR. The research is done and the day-one rule is fixed and non-negotiable: commercial-licence designs only (CC0/BY/SA), designer credited and linked, never NC or ND. What is missing is a person who wants to run a shop, and a first ten-SKU list.

The rule is the product. A shop that credits the designer is structurally different from one that does not, and it is the only defensible position against a reseller.

Whoever runs it names it and keeps it; the licence rule is the only thing that must survive. (once it is published, see above)

Anyone who has done a UAE food permit can answer it in five minutes. Tier 0 kit is fully priced at ~AED 740–790 and stays unbought until that call happens.

Two corrections that would each have bitten someone: FREE sampling is still food service and needs a licence, a health card and a municipality permit, 'free' is not an exemption; and cute US appliances are 115 V and will not run on a 220–240 V supply.
